We are looking forward to welcoming you to the third London Mindfulness Hub in May 2019.
Monks and Nuns from Plum Village, France will be in London for the Hub. They have been directly trained by Zen Master, poet, peace activist and 'father of mindfulness', Thich Nhat Hanh. They will offer their lived insights into living happily in the present moment and cultivating peace and freedom in the midst of challenging situations.
The Plum Village tradition offers teachings that are both simple and accessible yet also contain depth and wisdom. This Engaged Buddhism is appropriate for people of any religion or no religion and focuses on bringing mindfulness into our everyday lives.
This is a great opportunity to experience the peace, ease and stillness that is possible in the midst of a the busy, vibrant and lively city that is London.
This year’s London events will be led by four monastic Dharma Teachers from Plum Village International. For the last decade they have been active in Thich Nhat Hanh’s new engaged Buddhism initiatives, including the Wake Up movement, and bringing mindfulness into corporate and educational settings.
Sister Kinh Nghiem (right) has been a nun for over twenty years. Also known as “Sister Reverence,” she trained directly with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh as his attendant in Plum Village, France, and assisted him on his teaching tours around the world. Brother Phap Linh (left), also known as Brother Spirit, is a musician and seeker. He has composed many of the community’s most beloved chants, and is also pioneering Plum Village’s “yogi and scientist” retreats, exploring how the wisdom of mindfulness and neuroscience can lead to paths of healing.
